It takes positive credit to have a great credit score. The more credit you have and the longer you have had credit the better. The easiest, least expensive credit lines to get when you start out are revolving lines. Some are availible to those with poor or no credit. A few ever offer larger lines of credit. You do not need to keep a balance owing.
As a matter of fact you should not use over 30% of your revolving credit limits. You will need to develop a mix of revolving, installment and mortgage accounts to maximize your credit scores.
You may notice there are no vendor cards in this section now. The Bureaus are depreciating them and thay are not reporting consistantly.
Let’s get you on the fast track!
This is the fastest and most cost effective way to get established credit lines on your report. If you have someone in your life who knows you, loves you and trusts you that has good credit, they can help you fast track your credit.
This happens by them adding you to some of their existing revolving credit card accounts as an authorized user. The best lines have been established a long time and have high credit limits. They should not carry high balances as this can be bad for your score.
You do NOT need to possess the card or have access to the account. So the account holder is not at risk. Your credit will not migrate to their report.
You will get the credit history of their credit line on your credit report.
They should have a good long payment history on their account.
They should never use over 30% of the credit line.
The older the account is and the higher the credit limit the better.
You just need to have the card issuer add you as a authorized user.
The card can be mailed to them and they may remove you any time.
This will help you to qualify for better credit lines of your own faster.
Remember you still need to open credit lines of your own as some of the FICO
mortgage scoring models will not score authorized user accounts.
Sometimes you must use a “Special Address” to get these trade lines to post. This is simply a mailing address that you must temporarily use in place of your own to get tradelines from certain banks to post.
This involves lines from Chase, Discover, Wells Fargo, and a few smaller banks. There are two ways to post these lines. You can either initiate a “hard pull” on your credit or get a credit monitoring account such as Experian.com or Transunion.com. Please, note that special address lines usually do NOT post to Equifax.
Contact below for prefered vendor and assistance if you desire to buy trade lines.
If you have no cards we suggest starting with a couple of secured cards. Otherwise select offer appropriate to your credit score.
